Saving Horses, Serving People Help us to Bring the Outside In, renew hope...and restore lives
It’s an unfortunate truth that there are people in our community; friends, neighbors, classmates, even loved ones that have gone through traumatic events in their lives.
We can’t always stop or protect each other from abuse or harmful experiences.
What we can do is support organizations that offer support and counseling for our community members to work through their experiences and start to move forward.
Out Side In Stables (OSI) is a non-profit specializing in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) with licensed therapists and equine specialists right here in Grand Haven, Michigan. Serving families and individuals throughout West Michigan. And we do this with the help of rescued "Off The Track Thoroughbreds" destined for slaughterhouses in Canada and Mexico.
A bit more info about OSI and EAP
80% of our clients are women and children who suffer from mental or emotional disabilities due to trauma, domestic violence or sexual abuse.
Our Horses for Heroes program is for US Veterans and their families suffering from pre- and post-deployment traumatic stress disorder.
EAP is one of the most successful types of therapy 98% of those who complete one session go on to complete their entire recommended therapy session.
We’ve helped over 500 clients with a total 7,000 hours of therapy provided since we opened our doors in 2011.
This is where you come in. We are at capacity for serving families in our West Michigan communities and unfortunately restricted by mother nature. In the winter we’re at the mercy of the cold Michigan Weather. With your donation (of any size, everything helps!) we’ll be able to build a larger barn to serve our clients year round without interruption of inclement weather. A larger, indoor facility will allow for the expansion of therapy programs, helping more children and families and saving more horses.
